THE POSITION

seeking a motivated Licensed Professional Geologist to join the
Oils, Gas, and Minerals Division and provide technical geologic and

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Licensed Professional Geologist, you will conduct field
inspections of sites actively being developed for mineral
resources, in addition to evaluating and reviewing construction,
erosion and sedimentation control, reclamation, revegetation, and
other plans submitted by coal or mineral operators on State Game
Lands with an emphasis on avoiding or minimizing impacts to
wildlife, wildlife habitats, and sportsmen and outdoor
recreationists. You will also monitor and review coal and mineral
resource recovery operations occurring on State Game Lands to
ensure compliance with existing permits, leases and agreements, and
to assess the impacts of such operations to wildlife populations,
habitats, critical ecosystems, streams, springs, surface waters,
and groundwater.
Excellent organizational skills are necessary to track and maintain
accounting of lease royalties, rentals, and revenues generated from
coal and mineral recovery operations on State Game Lands. This
professional is also responsible for managing, auditing, and
tracking State Game Land leases, agreements, and contracts to
ensure compliance with provisions, terms, payments, and
obligations. Within this role, it is essential to maintain a
working knowledge of the Pennsylvania Game and Wildlife Code, the
Pennsylvania Game Commission Policy Manual and Standard Operating
Procedures (SOPs), Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Code, and various
other federal and state regulations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employmentWork
hours are 7:45 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 45-minute
lunch.Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home
(telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week, upon successful
completion of the initial 6-month training period. In order to
telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet
connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report
to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.Salary: In some cases, the
starting salary may be non-negotiable.You will receive further

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONSSpecial Requirements:You must possess an active
license as a professional geologist issued by the Pennsylvania
State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors
and Geologists.You must possess an active Pennsylvania
non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.
