Days

General Summary

Performs routine and advanced diagnostic ultrasound procedures at an advanced specialist skill level.
Duties and Responsibilities

Performs all ultrasound techniques and examinations such as, abdominal scans, retroperitoneal scans, obstetric and gynecology scans, small parts and neonatal head examinations.
Oversees the work of other personnel by training, allocating and monitoring work. Performs work of a similar nature.
Under the direction of a Team Leader, is responsible for training other technicians/technologists, certifying that techs meet competencies.
Schedules cases to coordinate with other patient examinations.
Positions and transfers patients safely and comfortably and explains basic procedure.
Selects proper technical factors on an individual patient basis.
Selects and operates equipment as needed to perform required exams.
Maintains equipment in efficient operating order; performs preventative maintenance on a regularly scheduled basis; contacts outside service for major malfunctions.
Prepares and maintains written documentation as required by the profession and the department.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

High School Diploma or GED Required

Work Experience:

3 years Relevant experience. Required

Licenses:

Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required and
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer-Abdomen Upon Hire Required or
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer-Breast Upon Hire Required or
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer-Fetal Echocardiography Upon Hire Required or
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer-Neurology Upon Hire Required or
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer-OBGYN Upon Hire Required or
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer-Pediatric Upon Hire Required or
Registered Vascular Technologist Upon Hire Required

Courses and Training:

Accredited program in ultrasound technology. Upon Hire Required
